Busy weekend in the Circle of Life Garden

Last weekend (7th/8th September) was a busy time in the Circle of Life Garden with visitors congregating for different purposes.

On Saturday afternoon  people from all over the country came together for the Irish Heart & Lung Transplant Association annual visit, and on Sunday morning the Galway Urban Greenway Alliance cycle from Barna to Salthill culminated with a gathering and barbecue in the garden.

Each year members of the Irish Heart & Lung Transplant Association travel to Salthill for an event of thanksgiving and remembrance at the Circle of Life Garden.  This special annual gathering gives those who have had a heart or lung transplant and their families, and those waiting for a transplant the opportunity to come together, talk about their experiences and remember with gratitude their donors and their families. They were welcomed by Denis Goggin who spoke about the garden's many features, and its importance in the lives of those who have been affected by organ donation and transplantation.

Volunteering:

For anyone interested in volunteering in the garden you would be most welcome to join us on Saturday morning next, 14th, between 9.30 and lunchtime.
