Circle of Life Garden benefits again from Sophie Coll’s Legacy

“Sophie’s Ball” in memory of Sophie Coll, held on New Year’s Eve last at the Galmont Hotel, Galway, raised the astonishing sum of €4,157 for the Circle of Life National Organ Donor Commemorative Garden in Salthill.

When Sophie Coll from Barna died suddenly and unexpectedly in September 2017 while studying in Limerick her family donated her organs for transplantation. On New Year’s Eve 2018/19, the first “Sophie’s Ball” was organised by Sophie’s sisters, Stephanie and Abbie and her many friends in her memory, raising funds for three charities, Strange Boat Donor Foundation/Circle of Life Garden; Anam Cara; and Coláiste Iognáid (Jes College) Basketball Club.

Once again Martina & Denis Goggin of Strange Boat Donor Foundation were overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of the Coll Family, and thanked the many people who supported the fundraising event last New Year’s Eve and for the very generous donation to Strange Boat Donor Foundation.

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 restrictions it was not possible for Sophie’s family to visit the Circle of Life Garden and present the cheque to Martina & Denis but a visit to the garden to remember Sophie is planned for later in the Summer.
