Call for 2nd Kidney Transplanting Hospital
At the launch of the 2016 Organ Donor Awareness Week (2nd April - 9th April), the IKA called for a second kidney transplanting hospital, predicting that the 2,000 number of people on dialysis now will be 3,000 in ten year's time.

The Annual Organ Donor Awareness Week organised by the Irish Kidney Association took place this year from 1st - 8th April, and once again highlighted the ongoing and ever increasing demand for organ transplantation which relies on the public for organ donation.

Birmingham Gym supports Circle of Life Garden
Community Aero-kick gym is a family kickboxing/boxing gym in the heart of Birmingham and, through one of its recent Community Box Challenges, raised funds for Circle of Life Garden in Galway.
Irish Organ Donation Statistics 2015
There was a small increase in organ transplants in 2015, up six from the 2014 figure of 251 but still well below the 2013 figure of 294. In 2015 there were 81 deceased donors and 33 living kidney donors.
